Rain, Retro and Big Vibes

Portland, OR

Portland did what Portland does best - rain. But these two leaned into it. We met at the infamous Electric Wunderland. Slightly grungy, neon-soaked and smelling of slushies and popcorn - it felt like stepping in a time capsule.

Cheyanne and Mitchell really wanted their engagement session in this arcade. After meeting on Bumbl, they met here for the first time and clicked instantly. When Cheyanne called the arcade, they said they couldn’t allow photography within. I was-not-having-this! I called myself, put management’s concerns and ease and was so excited to call Cheyanne to notify her that we were going for it!

At first, they were so shy and softspoken. They expressed nerves about having their photo taken and wanted 100% direction. But they brought main character energy. They totally leaned into being playful and embracing the experience rather than fretting about the camera. They trusted me!

By the end of their time inside, we stepped out front to dance in the rain like a truly cinematic moment. No direction needed. Authentic smiles and eyes filled with love. I’m so thankful we did this session. It was so unique, so fun and personal.
